**Dondino wrote in on behalf of himself and Bill Pinkney, the Original Drifters, to congratulate Dic on his 40 years in Radio!

Born in Grand Island, Nebraska, but moved to Des Moines at the age of 12. Dic joined KSO Radio when he was only 16 years old, after winning a KSO amateur DJ contest. Dic was an instant star at 1460 KSO and he and Hal Moore rocked the teens of Des Moines from the "KSO Fish bowl" Studio in a window at 19th and Ingersoll.

Dic left KSO and worked briefly in Florida. After returning to Des Moines he joined 940 KIOA in 1966 and retired from KIOA on September 30, 2007. He closed his last show by quoting his on air words for over 40 years...... "Thanks for turning me on".
What a sad day for radio listeners!
